A security guard was killed at the premises of a TV station when unidentified gunmen fired gunshots at the building in Tirana, capital of Albania early on Monday, police said.
The armed attack took place around 1:00 a.m. local time and the 60-year-old security guard was killed in a booth outside the building of Top Channel TV station, according to the police.
Police have found a burnt SUV car in Tirana with two automatic rifles inside on the scene of the attack. The motive of the perpetrators is unclear and the investigation by a police team is underway.
Prime Minister Edi Rama condemned the armed attack and sent condolences to the family of the victim. The criminal aggression against the television station should receive a clear response from the law enforcement agencies, he said.
