Bulgaria’s electricity production fell by 22.11% on the year to 22,361 GWh from January 1 to July 16, the Electricity System Operator (ESO) said on Monday.
Domestic power consumption in the country went down by an annual 5.57% to 20,200 GWh, ESO said in its latest weekly newsletter.
Bulgaria’s power trade surplus slumped by 70.48% year-on-year to 2,160 GWh in the review period.
At the same time, the volume of renewable energy in the transmission network added 36.72%, reaching 1,193 GWh, whereas the volume of renewable energy in the distribution system grew by 2.47% to 1,293 GWh.
The output of hydropower plants dropped by 16.21% in annual terms to 2,057 GWh, data showed.
