Bulgaria is the leading country in Central and Eastern Europe in the use of technology solutions provided by the Google platform for education, the Ministry Education said Wednesday after a meeting between Minister of Education and Science Prof. Galin Tsokov and William Florence, Head of Google Workspace for Education in Central and Eastern Europe.
The technology company’s analysis is based on various indicators such as the number of certified teachers and trainers, the use of apps such as Google Classroom, etc.
Bulgaria also ranks first in the number of teachers per capita with globally recognized digital skills certificates from the technology company, it became clear during the meeting. Data show that about 500 schools and a total of over 200 thousand users in Bulgaria are actively using the opportunities provided by the company’s cloud platform.
Participants at the meeting commented on how the active use of technology promotes innovation in teaching methods. Other important highlights of the conversation were the penetration of artificial intelligence, the organization of a joint event to present digital solutions in education and ways for their wider use in Bulgaria.
